Update in a Nutshell!!
I know it's been quite some time since I've posted!! We are settling in with our awesome Epic!! And as each month goes by... he become more and more in tune with Mia and her seizures. And we are learning his cues and alerts. He is so amazing!!
Unfortunately, Mia has been having a lot of seizures again. This is the nature of Dravet Syndrome. She has been struggling since the new year. We found out this Spring that Mia's VNS had stopped working (leads were broken). She had the VNS replaced on July 30th. Her neurologist is slowly ramping up her device and he is hopeful that we will see improvement. This will take quite a bit of time. WE HOLD ONTO HOPE!
Epic has been going to school with Mia! It's been so wonderful for him to be with her to help with their bond and for seizure work! We are thankful for her new school. They are amazing! :)
FUNDRAISER INFO!!
Mia turned 7 years old yesterday!! She has been through so much in those 7 years. Yet, through it all, our family has been blessed and loved in the most amazing ways.
Mia laughs and enjoys life and brightens this world!! I'm so thankful for another year with our sweet Mia!!!
We've been doing a special T-SHIRT fundraiser in honor of TEAM MIA. All money raised will go to the Epilepsy Foundation of North Carolina. So far, we've raised just over $700 and sold 60 shirts!!!! If we reach $1,000.... Justin's employer will match our funds!!!
