Day 6

Another great day at 4 Paws!!
Mia and Epic hanging at the hotel before class!
Today was another great day here in Ohio!!! Thankfully the roads weren't too bad this morning and even better for the ride back to the hotel.  Mia has quite a sore nose from it running so much, but overall seems to be feeling better each day.  And having her sweet Epic has been a great help:)

During our morning session we did some Q&A time and some review of previous commands.
We learned the command, "Over".  LOVE this one too!!! It's very similar to "lap".  Instead of just the dog's head on the lap... his whole body can go over your lap or belly, etc. This is really helpful for kids when they need help with calming.  Justin got to practice with Epic on this command:)

This afternoon we did Balance Work.  We worked on walking in "heel" and had our kids walk with us using the harness.  Epic's harness has a small handle on top for Mia to hold.  His type of harness is great for side to side balance help.  If Mia needs more stability in the future we can get Epic a different type.

Jeremy talked to us about Health and Grooming for our dogs.  This was HUGE for us since Epic is our first dog! :)   We need all the help we can get!!!

He also talked to us about toys that are appropriate for our dogs.  It is very important that they only have Nylabone or Kong products for various reasons.  He gave us great ideas for outdoor toys as well.  Epic LOVES to run and play.  Soon enough, he'll be playing in our back yard!

Tomorrow morning we will be doing our practice at the mall in the morning and before class we'll get to see SANTA for "Sensitive Santa" morning.  They allow children with special needs come in before the mall opens so it is lower key for our kiddos and their siblings.  We can't wait! :)

Here are some pictures from our day!! :)

Epic LOVES Mia's pillow!
